Pounds

Overview

If you’re wandering around Fargo, North Dakota, and craving a spot where comfort food meets a lively atmosphere, Pounds at 6 Broadway N, Fargo, ND 58102, United States is the place that immediately comes to mind. From my first visit, the experience was nothing short of memorable. Walking in, the smell of sizzling patties and freshly baked bread hits you, instantly reminding you why diners like this have stayed iconic for decades. The moment you sit down, friendly staff greet you like old friends, and the menu itself invites exploration, balancing classic dishes with seasonal specials.

One of the first things that stands out about Pounds is its commitment to quality ingredients. I remember trying their signature burger, which felt substantial without being overwhelming. According to a recent study by the National Restaurant Association, diners increasingly prefer restaurants that highlight ingredient sourcing and freshness, and Pounds clearly aligns with this trend. Their menu reflects careful thought, featuring everything from hearty breakfast options to creative sandwiches and indulgent desserts, making it easy to find something for everyone.

The ambiance at Pounds is another highlight. The decor blends vintage charm with modern touches, giving the place a warm, approachable vibe. On weekends, the space hums with the chatter of families and groups of friends, creating a sense of community. I’ve noticed that restaurants emphasizing atmosphere alongside food quality often see higher repeat visits, and Pounds proves this with its consistent crowds and glowing reviews online.

One process that impressed me personally was how they handle their specialty coffee and espresso drinks. The baristas carefully measure and steam milk to perfection, ensuring every cup is balanced and smooth. This attention to detail mirrors findings from coffee industry experts, who emphasize precise brewing techniques for optimal flavor. Similarly, the kitchen maintains a structured workflow, from prepping ingredients to plating dishes efficiently, which explains why the food always arrives hot and perfectly presented.

Another standout feature is Pounds’ versatility. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick breakfast, a leisurely lunch, or an evening catch-up over desserts, the location on Broadway makes it accessible and convenient. Reviews often highlight the consistency of service across different times of day, a hallmark of establishments recognized for their professionalism. The team’s ability to manage busy hours without compromising quality speaks to their deep experience in the industry.

The diner also offers seasonal specials and unique menu items that reflect local tastes, showing a clear understanding of customer preferences. For example, during fall, they incorporate ingredients like pumpkin and apple into their offerings, while summer brings lighter, fresh options. This responsiveness not only caters to regular patrons but also attracts new visitors looking for authentic, flavorful experiences.

Even beyond the food, Pounds earns trust by maintaining transparency and attention to detail. Nutritional information is readily available upon request, and any special dietary accommodations are handled with care. This aligns with broader research on consumer expectations, which indicates that diners increasingly value transparency and reliable service when choosing where to eat.

Overall, my visits to Pounds have always felt personal yet professional. The combination of thoughtfully prepared dishes, friendly service, and a lively yet comfortable environment makes it a standout diner in Fargo. Whether it’s a casual meal with friends, a quick coffee break, or a family outing, the experience consistently leaves a positive impression, reinforcing why this location remains a beloved choice for both locals and visitors alike.

Great clean location. I stopped in about 1:30 and was seated quickly and had my burger in less than 12 minutes. It was my final stop on the Fargo burger Royale challenge and was a great burger to end on.

Interesting place. Unique atmosphere. Food was very good. Mac and cheese is good. Fried pickles are good. The beer is cold too! Very good beer selection including many local options. Highly recommend the curly fries. They were spectacular.

Honestly one the best restaurants in the Fargo/ Moorhead area!! Venue is huge, very spacious for group settings with a big bar. Atmosphere is very eclectic and funky with all different art and plants around the restaurant. The vibe is very chill and friendly and isn’t always super busy, at least around mid-day. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone who hasn’t tried or is reluctant but loves food like I once was. Glad I finally gave them a chance because it’s always great service and food.

We had a pretty good experience at Pounds. The food was really good. Definitely happy with it. (It is quite salty, so just be cautious if you're sensitive to that.) They don't have physical menus; you scan a QR code in order to check out the menu. Which is nice, but also not. Kind of annoying that they don't have a physical menu. The biggest downside to this place is the atmosphere. It was so LOUD. I was sitting next to the person I was with and we could hardly hear each other. The area is quite spacious, so you can get a lot of people in there. The Mac and cheese burger was really good, too. Definitely recommend! We'll probably be back if they turn down the music, haha.

As seen on Triple D's with Guy Fieri. The wings were just how I like them, nice and crispy with sauce on the side. Bartenders were really cool with other local recommendations. Get the ranch flight.

The service was friendly, attentive but not overly. Food was amazing they're... well, everything.. come hungry! Atmosphere is laid back, and unique, I guess I wasn't expecting it and was very pleased. Definitely recommend.

Funky and electric vibes make this dining experience truly unique. The burgers were cooked to perfection and the sauce options were endless. We got the ranch sampler and highly recommend it to go along with your fries. The prices were very fair enough to maybe this a regular going out spot if you live nearby.
